I have 3 sockets, 1 TV, and an internet outlet.

Why do you need so many?

For normal use, the TV also has speakers. The new devices don’t need receivers anymore, and the hard drive can feed itself via USB.

has described several times why more speakers are needed. If it suffices for you, fine. But if you want, for example, 5.1, you need different equipment.

Well, internal receivers are usually nothing - especially not for Sky.

Playstation, Wii, Blu-ray player, TV, satellite receiver, AV receiver, possibly lighting for the lowboard, power for the IR distributor... plus reserve. That can add up...

And one LAN socket is too little nowadays if you don't rely on Wi-Fi.

And whether I install 4 LAN ports or just one and connect a 5-port switch to it, which in the end only has 4 ports because I lose one for the uplink. Better to have a proper 4 ports in the wall.

I have 2 power outlets, 2 LAN, 2 Sat. LAN is enough for the receiver and for Sky. Only one power outlet is used so that I can completely turn off all devices via a multi-plug. Additionally, there are 2 sockets for speaker cables 5.1. Switchable sockets are a good idea, but then you can see all the cable mess, so I installed my power strip inside the lowboard so that only the plug is visible. Between the lowboard and the TV, a cable duct runs up in wall color, which could be done more nicely as well.

No, I have a switch in the wall for that, which turns off the sockets - saving me an expensive (and prone to failure) master-slave power strip.
