Please justify that! Unicable or JESS is superior to the classic SAT block wiring in comfort, flexibility, and price (saved cables!).

I wrote about a single-cable solution, not about Unicable or JESS, those were brought into the discussion by tomtom79 and you... but be that as it may, it's all similar...

Unfortunately, the advantages of single-cable systems are very limited... fewer cables and more participants...

The disadvantages, however, are:

- More collisions because receivers can send commands simultaneously.
- Increased setup effort because each receiver needs a unique ID.
- In HD operation, picture dropouts sometimes occur when another participant switches.
- With improper handling, installing a new receiver can already disable the entire system.

This can be counteracted by installing special outlets, which however causes higher costs.

Then I’d rather take the simple way and have each outlet in the single-family house wired individually... Coax cable really costs nothing... and afterward I don’t have any of the issues I mentioned above...

Hello,

sorry, I was just too groggy last night to feel like typing anymore ;)

Have you ever answered the question why it is always a certain type of person who is "featured" in these shows? And maybe furthermore, why building owners, against better knowledge, still save on an accompanying expert in favor of a "nice to have"?

I have had the chance to experience two of these formats up close, since then I know for sure, they are all fakes. The idea behind it was originally very good; that’s exactly why I even accepted the invitation. Then sponsors, producers, and directors came in, and the will to inform impartially and factually was gone. At the very least, it has to be dramatic; that’s why Allkauf® once had to dismantle their shell construction again because the installation of the gable walls was filmed in windless conditions.

Unfortunately, that often reads differently in your posts.

On German construction sites, predominantly good to very good work is delivered; unfortunately, these are not found on the internet. And even the negative reports—one is currently keeping me on my toes—must be viewed with the necessary objectivity and distance. What you usually find are single-family homes that were sold significantly underpriced, with clever BB or unjustifiably high EL. Everyone—even laymen—can clearly understand that the quality of the trades suffers as a result... but no one wants to hear that; after all, he (the builder) is an ambitious layperson on the internet. RTL® & Co additionally hype it up media-wise and then it’s again the "poor" builder who got into trouble through no fault of his own. Hardly anyone knows that the so-called experts involved often have a contractual relationship with a competitor of the shown provider; a little thinking would already help there. I am just disgusted at how an entire industry is being publicly shamed.

Of course, there are also bad apples, but they are in the minority and only have the chance to operate because there are builders who want to own a single-family house at any cost... and of course, save on an expert. Everyone gets what they deserve ;)

That’s what I meant in a previous post about effort versus result. €100 material + hourly wage versus costs “x” for breaking open, plastering work, and wall covering.

The suggestions you make are like gibberish to me; so I don’t even try to embarrass myself. I just wanted to emphasize that electricians are “only” human and that they are allowed to make mistakes. In forums like these, there is often the opinion that every person may make mistakes, but no craftsman; he has to function like a mechanical clock.

Apparently, the OP and her electrician have found a solution; if they both can live with it, then it’s all good ;)

Rhenish greetings

Hello everyone,
this is all very informative, even though I understand little. The electrician suggests a distributor (and basically taps into another cable). I think this is the solution presented above by Mycraft with the single cable system? For this, he offers a 40-inch TV.
Alternatively, the elaborate solution, he will do as well if I want. I basically have to decide now.
By the way, I am also building with an expert, but unfortunately he is not available today and I think satellite technology is also very special.

Let him explain exactly what he wants to install...

afterwards you should be able to watch different channels on both TVs at the same time without any additional receivers like Sat->IP or Sat->Powernet or anything else. You still need the "normal" satellite receiver or a TV with a triple tuner per satellite connection, that should be clear.

I suspect he just wants to do the simplest solution with the DiSEqC switch, which will then be located in the sub-distribution. By the way, this is also one of the cheaper and proven ones...

I have already thought about the matter with the Bohemian villages... and since I know there are solutions that hardly cost anything, I wrote that you shouldn't get involved in the horse trading.

If you don't like my posts, then so be it... but I simply demand from everyone what I ordered/paid for and not something similar... after all, people want the same from me...

You wanted the box, he forgot it. Take the solution you can live with for the next 20 years, even if it hurts today (hurts the electrician). With the next house, he will check his work before painting.
