For me, you buy 1000 sqm for 189 k€. Although, by the time it's yours (additional purchase costs), and the thing is demolished, you're at about 225 k€, but you don't have a roof over your head at first. Keep looking...

Thank you for the rather devastating answers. Maybe I was hoping for something like "it could only be due to the windows" or something similar. But my gut feeling has now been confirmed. I have also read a bit about mold remediation, and it is quite complicated and not a job for amateurs at this scale.

Mold is really nasty and never a job for amateurs. However, the property as a whole also gives me a neglected impression, and not at all in the charming Sleeping Beauty kind of way.

So I know the oil stoves from around 1910... It is quite possible that poor ventilation and bad heating behavior lead to mold. The cellar is concerning. Here, everything really needs to be new except for the walls. I would make an offer according to BRW and then take a lot of time for the renovation through self-performance. Then it would be within the price range. If that is not desired/wanted, this is not your property.

What does BRW mean?
We were already thinking about roughly 1 year in terms of time.

Really, nothing was done there.
According to the floor plan, a room in the basement was also a stable.
The kitchen was moved into the dining room. We had already wondered because that one room has a stone floor.

The rotten window does not look like someone has lived there recently. And if they did, then under very poor conditions. But that is said to exist in our country as well. Apparently, no money has been spent on maintenance for the house. Although there may still be some nice corners in the house that were not photographed. At best, it can be used as a shell or simply as a plot of land.
