Your child should only have to move once and not constantly. In my opinion, it is more important that the workplace is not too far away so that you can spontaneously pick up the child from school in case of illness. Don’t get carried away!

That wouldn’t be all that important.... Our daughter has, at most, been sick for maybe a week so far (daycare and school).

I’ll turn it around. Having our own house wouldn’t be so important to us that we would move out of this area. Primarily, it’s about improving our current living situation and increasing our quality of life. Having our own house is not necessarily the dream of a lifetime, but rather a means to an end, since there is no suitable housing available.
And our demands are not huge either... I simply grew up differently and see priorities elsewhere.

... The house in Jübek really seems to be a real cream puff..... There must be a catch.

The house here in post 1 certainly cannot be made livable for a total of 300 K (with purchase)

We searched for a caravan last year. I wanted a simple and cheap one because my expectations were not that high. I grew up in a very small one with an awning (though that was 50 years ago). That was a very nice, simple time. I even wanted to pimp it myself, paint the wood, reupholster the cushions, etc. Pinterest and YT, here we come ;) We looked at those between 5-10000 because the ones under 5 looked awful from the outside. As soon as we opened the door, about 80% of all the caravans hit us with either a rotten, damp, or moldy smell. Sometimes it was cold smoke (smoker vehicle). The other 20% were cheap versions or really very, very old.
In the end, we had to bow to reason and invested all our money (not just a part) into a well-maintained and not so old vehicle, more of the conservative kind.
What I want to say, and I repeat myself: don’t get stuck in the cheap sector bargain house à la RTL2, and anyone who follows house viewings twice a month and registers with realtors is surely looking as well. You’re not new to the forum… This can very quickly become a never-ending story if you do it the wrong way.

In my eyes, that is the best example: you mention and say you wouldn’t even have looked at the exposé, right?… but only the rented 119,000 € house… and if you’re pointed out to it, it has a catch for you.
I would be happy if there are no catches for you, but the right thing :)
By the way, there are catches that are gladly sought out ;)
