: Yes, I didn’t look at Jübek yesterday evening because it is definitely outside of our search area. If I were to expand the area that far, I might as well move to Schwansen... so once across the Schlei. That’s “only” 30km away from where we currently live, but that would mean we’d need two decent cars and our social network would definitely be gone. You don’t have to understand that, but please tolerate it.
Our bus connections here in the countryside are still very underdeveloped, which means the child’s previous circle of friends is definitely gone (maybe they’ll meet again at high school someday). The train doesn’t help either.
But of course I understand your main point... better to pay a bit more once and be reasonably sure about surprises than to take a surprise egg and hope it works out. So far, though, it has also been the case that the somewhat higher-priced properties were ready to move in right away and maybe fine for the next 5 to 10 years, but bigger things like the roof and windows would have come up soon, so mentally you also consider a possible full renovation (and thus peace of mind for a while) with a cheaper purchase price.

Listed for a bidding procedure with a starting bid of 300 k. 265 sqm living space semi-detached house... when I saw that, I just thought “how do you even come up with a price like that???”. From the outside I would maybe guess 150 k... Well... the original listing is now gone and a new one is listed as “price proposals requested”.

Right outside the current front door/apartment door it’s difficult everywhere (virtually hopeless), unless you have (a lot of) time and set the goal for 2030. :(

You should take a closer look. That semi-detached house has 2 separate apartments (265 sqm!), then it mentions extension/storage…. 1000 plot…

But the junk property for 189k€ is being scrutinized intensively… :confused:

The wrecked property was not recognizable as such from the outside... However, the semi-detached house also needs complete renovation. That alone exceeds the budget due to the size, so we don't even need to look at it. The thread has also drifted off.. I had already mentioned the budget. Max. 350 k.

I saw an ad today for a 40-year-old 130 sqm mid-terrace house for 1.8 million in Mosach/Munich and have been wondering ever since whether it was serious or satire.

Of course serious, NEW costs 2.5 million :rolleyes:
