: There is still no reason to always immediately attack the under-40s and criticize their previous spending behavior without knowing the circumstances. Things like care costs for relatives, funeral expenses, BAföG repayments, and so on apparently aren’t known to you. It’s not always just about "5 cars" and lack of willingness.

Thanks. I owe no one an explanation, despite having asked here for a friendly assessment of the situation from outsiders. I’ve had enough smart remarks already.

The life path of some people is not always as straight and smooth as some might imagine. And it certainly isn’t because of 5 cars and Moët parties in Ibiza. Honestly, I find this underlying insinuation a bit cheeky and presumptuous.

Regarding construction: It’s almost off the table for me anyway. For various reasons, because really nice new development areas without "sardine-style construction" that are affordable don’t really exist for me in the region.

But the feedback is enough as a first objective assessment of the situation, which confirms my analysis. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this in a friendly way.

And btw: I don’t want to dive into the status of an owner anew, I am one already. But here we are again with life paths and the like.

Have a nice week everyone.

Huh? Did I misread myself last night? As far as I remember the posts from HilfeHilfe, he only asked why no savings were made. Admittedly insistently, but openly and fairly. Only when he was attacked did he list things that didn’t fit for him. These are not remarks! This is experience here from the forum.

And precisely because of these reasons, simplified as “BAföG or consumption,” one asks. And if the OP doesn’t want to share, they have been given a question to take with them that should make them think.

Because it is simply the way it is: spending a good salary, desire for children and resulting house desire… that just doesn’t fit well. And even if not self-“caused” circumstances are the reason for little equity, one also has to mention that fate then calls for saving times from now on if the wish to build is there. Many don’t understand that. Many want the cornucopia, think they can get the lowest interest rate without equity and want to _spontaneously_ get away from the “evil of rent.” And these circumstances can be asked about – that is human… unlike at the bank.

Totally right, ypg. I also find the first question afterward completely legitimate. However, I see the constant probing and demanding answers a bit differently. No one has to expose themselves if they don't want to, and that has to be accepted.

I think points for reflection were provided, assuming the OP hasn't already thought about it themselves. The clear statement here was: with such low equity, better not; rather save up and reconsider in a few years.

If the OP wants to spill the beans here, they may, but they don't have to, and no one has to constantly pressure them to do so. This primarily has nothing to do with the advice they asked for here.

Please where?
Please read again:
#3: Follow-up question about desire to have children
#5: Follow-up question about the lack of equity
#8: Answer was to
#10: The reproach already came from you

I just wanted to point that out
Or did I omit something before #10 came from you?

I am always interested in such answers as well, without judging anyone.
Only then you can possibly open the OP's eyes
That’s the only reason I am pointing this out here.

I know, I absolutely agree with that too.

But HilfeHilfe simply has this way of IMMEDIATELY subtly accusing anyone who has a good income but little equity of probably having led a luxurious life so far and definitely not managing to budget well in case of purchasing property. Apparently, he doesn’t even properly read the posts of the various thread starters, since they often already explain why what happened as it did. So that is simply presumptuous.
I won’t even start on how he constantly tells other people that they are underpaid and should please apply elsewhere.
