I don't think you're concerned with covering up traces....

Such a house would have been unimaginable to me. Now, the following story has happened in our village: A few hundred meters from us, a man was murdered in his own house. After some time, the house was sold by his heirs. The new owners renovated the house and before moving in, they called the priest to have the house blessed. When we move, we also always have our new apartment/house blessed. Because of this event, a house blessing has taken on an even deeper meaning for us. Somehow you have to be able to deal with it, I think it's not easy.

Factually, I personally have the same opinion. But people should be allowed their peculiarities and one should take them into consideration. We live in a culture in which belief plays a formative role and influences life as well as society. Having a problem with that is just as absurd or not as celebrating Easter. If someone feels bad in this constellation, it may not be because of a "truth" and yet it is certainly a "reality" and thus a "fact." In that sense, you may be right, but your assessment is very far from reality.

No idea how "tough" he is. But he is right.

I agree - only that this is completely irrelevant for the decision-making. Person 1: "I have a bad gut feeling about the decision." Person 2: "Wrong."

I don't know what this is supposed to have to do with esotericism or hocus pocus. With such an investment (as I said, not a bargain) you should check beforehand whether you can live with the knowledge of what happened in the long term or not. It would be fatal if we only deal with it in detail after moving in and then possibly find out that we don't feel comfortable after all. We wouldn't save a lot of money, only time and probably nerves. And we would have a few hundred meters less to the center. The house costs 350 K€ including additional costs, the new build all inclusive about 375 K€. It is of course difficult to compare, as the plots of land and living areas etc. are different.
