We don't have any yet.

It's not exactly a typical village (5,300 inhabitants), there's still a certain level of anonymity here. I don't assume that what happened would still be a topic 1-2 years after moving in, but it is definitely to be expected that every neighbor around will bring it up, asking if we were "informed" before the purchase.

I would never think of that as a neighbor? Maybe one would iiiirgendwann talk about it later, if it comes up. We definitely only found out about the previous owner from our neighbors 1-2 years after moving in.

The mere fact that you ask for experiences in a forum shows that you are not inexperienced. You will probably never be happy in this house.

Unfortunately, suicide is a taboo topic in our society, but why is that? It happens very, very often, in our neighboring city of "100000 inhabitants" about 200 people per year. Years ago, when I had a case in my circle of friends myself, I only then became aware of how much strength it takes to take one's own life. Nobody would have thought it of him, but in hindsight there were already signs that no one took seriously, after all, no one has experience with it.

Is it the suicide that makes you think
Or is it the violence/brutality?
I assume he didn't take any pills and fell asleep peacefully... it's probably the mind cinema that shows something else, that is, what we find disgusting?

There are many things that come into play ... you think about how and why and exactly where in the house .... As a relative, you are often seen by others as if you are partly to blame because you didn't prevent it, and the whole family is immediately seen as dysfunctional .. For me, the worst way to leave life when it comes to the relatives ... which at the same time leads to the fact that the suicidal person is often seen as someone who does harm to others rather than as a poor soul who needed help ....
