Honestly, the garage is your "buffer" in case something else becomes more expensive than calculated. Finish everything inside first, and then you can see if there is any money left – that will then go first into (rudimentary) outdoor facilities and then into a shelter for the car. You need your €20,000 reserve for the kitchen and the many small things that add up in the end... mailbox, doorbell, lighting...
I also see the time without parental allowance and childcare critically – from when is the child supposed to be cared for? Is there already a plan?
Ok, I will rename the garage to buffer this evening. The outdoor facilities were calculated at €20,000... or is that not enough for a simple outdoor facility?
The child is supposed to go to daycare at 2.5 years and to kindergarten at 3. Furthermore, we want to clarify with my wife's employer whether home office would be possible. It would then require about 2-3 hours of work daily to reach the parental allowance level.
