So, applied for Baukindergeld for the apartment: it was very easy, the video authentication via mobile phone was also convenient. Now waiting for the online activation and then uploading documents

Hello everyone,
my initial situation has now changed slightly (I have not uploaded documents yet because I am still missing the land register excerpt…)
The situation is as follows:
We have found a potential buyer for our apartment, which we ourselves only bought this year (our neighbor). She would like to have a notary appointment this year. However, the date for the sale is supposed to be (for example) 01.02.2022, as we will probably start building our house in the spring.
Here are my specific questions:

[*]Can the buyer still apply for the Baukindergeld this year on this basis?
[*]If we receive a building permit this year, and the purchase contract for the apartment has been signed at the notary by then, could we apply for Baukindergeld for the house in the future?
[*]If 1 and/or 2 are not possible, can I at least still apply for Baukindergeld myself for the years I live in the apartment?

Thanks and regards

The Baukindergeld is actually supposed to be for families who truly need the money (!). Apparently, that is not the case with you. Therefore, I find these attempts to "take advantage" at any cost not very social.

Hello HansHansen,

thank you very much for your comment. I completely agree with you and also believe that only families who actually need it should receive Baukindergeld. A selection is apparently made based on the conditions set by the KFW.

Since my family and I meet the requirements and, in particular, do not exceed the income limits, I believe that we are indeed in a position where we need Baukindergeld and that the state generally wants to support us.

By the way, I clarified this with the KFW Bank by phone and then had it confirmed in writing: selling the apartment this year and then obtaining a building permit is possible.

The KFW even pointed out the necessary details to pay attention to.

Best regards and have a nice evening

You wrote in one of your other threads something about over €6000 net total income. That doesn’t sound like "really needed" to me (even if the conditions were still met the year before last). And you’re fighting here over a few thousand euros as if everything depended on it. It just leaves a bad taste for me. Especially considering that the fund is limited and other families need it more. Just my 2 cents from the social perspective

I see it somewhat divided. On the one hand, you are right. On the other hand, there are requirements to receive Baukindergeld. In your opinion, who would be allowed to apply for Baukindergeld now? A family with €6,000 net and 6 children or a family with €4,500 net and one child? What is the limit here? That’s why we come to the BUT. Requirements are set, as long as everyone fulfills them, they may apply for Baukindergeld and should not feel bad.

By the way, VW is crying out for government subsidies when buying cars. Wasn’t it the company that: a) makes billions in profits b) has problems because it cheated and got caught?

You see, the morality baton here is not really appropriate.
