Here it was the classic: End of July 2017: The general contractor had connected our house to the sewage system, the drains were also laid. Now the supply....the general contractor tried to coordinate. Please Thursday the gas and water supplier, he has to be the deepest. He should leave his trench open, then on Friday electricity can go on it, and Telekom gets one empty conduit. So the plan was. But: it turned out differently as always. The gas and water subcontractor did not come because of a gas pipe break somewhere. The electricity guy came anyway, made himself a trench, put the line in, jointed it, left everything open. The following week the gas and water subcontractor came and complained. Nonsense, electricity already in, already powered, and we have to go underneath. I said, you have to dig very carefully. He always put yellow flags on the electricity line. You can see that. And the Telekom empty conduit....here are 50 euros, please add that for me, otherwise they will dig again. He grumbled a bit but became peaceful. He managed not to destroy the electricity cable. And what do we do now with the Telekom people? Should we leave the head hole open? I said I would take care of it. You all will be informed. Telekom builder service, yes, now please, they leave the head hole open for one day because they still have something to do in the housing estate...you will never get it more convenient...the empty conduit is in, served on a silver platter. I talk the nice Telekom employee into giving me the number of their subcontractor in Kiel. She immediately gives me the site manager’s mobile number... Yes, Andresen on the line, K-T-M Kiel... Where did you get the number from? I answer truthfully and put forward my request. And indeed, yes, that’s nice, we have a man nearby, he comes tonight and finishes the job. Indeed, the fiber optic tube goes into the conduit, the gas supplier subcontractor closes the head hole, the electricity is still intact, the house supplied. Phew. That just turned out well after all. Karsten
