Dear home builders, at some point, after long or short planning, the time of waiting comes. The time between the building application and approval, the wait for the offensive.

What do you do in the meantime? Check the kitchen, evaluate appliance tests, resign, go to the plot, count shoes, measure hangers, mentally saw furniture apart, google new furniture, measure, plan niches in non-load-bearing walls, buy a garden planner, dig out the Feng-Shui book, go to the plot, call the bank, move the bed again, move the door, measure, doubt the floor plan, measure the draft for the umpteenth time, take B vitamins, go to the plot, google sports clubs in the new town, choose tiles, plan sliding doors, fall into a shopping frenzy, already order lamps, what does Ik.a offer?, doubt the floor plan again, plan niches, call BU, browse forums, doubt the whole house, "if only we had", take a mental break, watch Semmelings, tear your hair out, go to the plot, measure again, annoy forums, what if?.... What do you do in the gray zone?

Best regards yvonne

Hello Yvonne,

I could relate quite well to your text, except for minor details that are due to personal interests. During the week, I work and travel a lot, so actually, only the weekend is usually available to deal with the house. But nevertheless, the impatience is present: why does it all take so long; when will it finally move forward...
For us, the demolition of the old house is currently a highlight. Next week, there is still a notary appointment so that the plot can finally be sold to us. Then there will be another kitchen viewing – somehow, the remaining vacation from last year has to be used up.
Otherwise, as I wrote: I could relate well to your text...
I wish you the necessary patience and good success!

Best regards,
Michael

Have tender documents created for the individual trades, compare them, continue searching for the best price-performance ratio. Coordinate again with the site manager, perhaps do not select new (construction) companies locally and request offers for the individual trades again. I really cannot see a waiting period with us. However, we build in single-trade contracts and are busy around the clock

Hello Yvonne,

although we have not yet submitted the building application, we have finished planning the floor plan for now. Now it's time for the kitchen. The soil survey and the work of the architect are running in the background.

I am already quite excited, but I don't want to fall into a buying frenzy and keep holding myself back from ordering supposed bargains on the Internet. After all, they have to be moved as well

If it really can't be helped, I will probably be busy decluttering. We have so much stuff in the basement, in the pantry, in the cabinets, that urgently needs to go.

If you are bored, feel free to come over ;)

Best regards
Julia

@Chasqui, I need a vacation too, but it’s being saved up until I can’t go on anymore ;) @nordanney: with turnkey, something like that doesn’t happen :) @Jaydee: I’m already in the process of deleting all the newsletters, but recently some damn expensive lamps smiled at me at a cheap price  ... I dread the decluttering... I’m not a basement kid... everything has to go... my husband has to take care of that

... yesterday it was my wardrobe's turn, but I was able to replan 1 meter more storage space in our new dressing room. Just have to convince the architect of that
