If I interpreted DerDa's last posts correctly, he means more the time after the birth. When the child takes priority for mommy and daddy.
Yep... that's exactly it. However, as a pregnant woman, you can't plan on being able to help. I know mothers who unfortunately had to be on bed rest for the last 2 months of their pregnancy. Something like that can happen to anyone.
Our little one was about 3 months old, so we were on the construction site for days. Several problems come together here. It's colder than at home (luckily pretty warm in the prefabricated house) and it's dirty/dusty as hell. This screed dust is everywhere and settles nicely in your nose. Also, a small child wants to be entertained or nursed every 2 hours.
You mustn't underestimate the time it takes to just wallpaper a house. And especially when a toddler is around, it takes twice as long :)
But otherwise, I can really recommend it, it wonderfully distracts from the boring waiting. I also advise choosing the furniture etc. before the birth :) Afterward, that's hard... as here in KA you sometimes wait 2 hours until a salesperson has time to enter the order into the computer. Our little one didn't always have the patience for that :)
