I would have this utility room planned by an architect, following the idea of , if a gable roof is acceptable. The room won't have to be 3.20 meters high everywhere, will it?

And if it does, then it will be a flat roof extension to the house. It is supposed to be heated, so it should be within the thermal envelope of the house and not in the non-existent thermal envelope of the garage. And if an extension is built, it can have any height it wants.

Yes, but since we are planning a basement and could possibly house the guest room there, you have space for such things again in the living area. And it is very important to us, so we will probably have to spend money. My question was just whether you can integrate that into a garage or if there are perhaps prefabricated garages with 2.80 room height? But how do I heat them then. That’s why I am asking here

Thanks in advance for all the answers.

That is probably the current favorite, maybe it can be combined with the entrance area / vestibule.

If my construction company doesn’t have architects, how do you actually find good architects? Do they charge for the consultation already or only when commissioned?

For pull-ups and a power rack, 2.5 m is sufficient.

Are you building a basement? I would personally prefer to set up my CrossFit studio there and choose a higher ceiling height for that.

Otherwise, you can heat the garage integrated into the house with 20 m2 for a long time for the price difference compared to a prefabricated garage of the same size. For occasional use, even an electric hot air blower might be economical. There is nothing against insulating the garage wall yourself (DIY) and then plastering it. Just make sure no neighbor finds out that it is heated and used for purposes other than your car.

Why is that?

... then you need someone who creates a plan for you and prepares the building application.

Yellow Pages? They also exist on the internet. Or just drive through residential areas and ask who built this or that house.

An hour to get to know each other is always possible. However, you should ask in advance.

Yes, we want to build a basement. But as I said, we have long dreamed of a "private box" where you open the door in the morning when the weather is nice and sit outside on your AirBike or something. That's why we actually don't want a basement fitness room.

Is it probably forbidden here in Germany, whereas in the USA it is standard for people to have a small gym set up in the garage and work out there for 1-2 hours a day?

Yes, insulating and plastering such a garage afterwards and then briefly heating it to 15-18°C with a heater or other mobile heating device should be well below costs of around 50k.
