Well, we just got back from the architect and are feeling down. Our price expectations have, of course, been exceeded, and our dream house isn’t feasible as planned! Besides, he says we can’t take a standard house because our plot requires a customizable design. :( View over the village to the north, plot facing the street to the south.

He is now making us a floor plan, which we will receive in four weeks.

Building a house is always complicated.
Why did you go the route of an architect? That is not wrong per se, just usually more expensive. It's clear that the architect says you can't take a standard house, he wants to sell his service after all!
Try contacting other providers in parallel, even though you will already have to pay the architect now – after all, you commissioned him to draw the floor plan,...
