The look was the deciding factor - the rest didn't matter to me. It also doesn't have a normal spring/groove, but something proprietary to Kährs, which I liked very much.

In our open living-dining-kitchen area, cork is laid throughout. I would also simply lay parquet continuously in that case.

There is also what I would call solid wood as a layman. In the market, AFAIK it is sold as strip parquet, for example 22 mm thick (top layer 10 mm; tongue/groove 5 mm; bottom layer 7 mm). It is glued down and suitable for underfloor heating.

Personally, I think sanding is overrated. Presumably, no one will do it more than once. The effort is considerable, so a new floor might be an option if needed.

A new floor is therefore cheaper and less effort than sanding? Sorry, but may I have a laugh?

Optionally, a tile with a wood look could also be considered. We are planning to use such tiles (1.20x0.20m) in the open living/kitchen/dining area on the ground floor and country house floorboards upstairs. Both have almost exactly the same color tone.

Sorry for following up. Do you know what strip parquet is?
Explain it to me, ok 10+5+7 equals 22, but what is top lamella and bottom lamella?
Should there be something that I haven’t heard of yet?

Regards, Sigi

We have tiles throughout the whole house... I don't know if that was the best choice. I'm not completely unhappy, but maybe in hindsight I would have chosen a different material. Everything certainly has its pros and cons... Tiles are insensitive, noisy guests and careless movers don't matter - but on the other hand, for example, they hardly absorb any sound. It's also possible that you just get used to everything eventually and that in the end it doesn't really matter anyway.
