Steffen's argument is an important point!
With SatIP, you also don't get HD+ or Sky decrypted, that only works semi-legally via streaming solutions, for which you again need suitable boxes that cost money...
Otherwise, you don't save anything on infrastructure. You still need the satellite dish with LNB and behind it, instead of a multiswitch, the SatIP server. Then cabling from the multiswitch to the outlets – whether that is coax or CAT7 with the appropriate outlet, should be price-wise the same.

Therefore, after reconsideration, I see it at most as a supplement, for example to bring Sat to a tablet.

One must of course agree with Alex here. Sat cables are a "no-brainer" and everyone knows how they work and it works immediately. In this context, Steffen is also right that it would currently be important for a sale. Otherwise, TV over the network is still a makeshift solution at the moment.

I personally decided against it because I did not want a coax socket next to every network socket. I think that in the future, more and more will be done over LAN/internet and not less. If I am wrong, I will probably have to lay coax, which would of course be possible.

Otherwise, I personally like having everything centrally, TV server, NAS for recordings, etc. I can connect a PI to any network socket and have TV there with media access and everything. I don’t have receivers lying around anywhere, even though many TVs can of course do that, but IPTV from Telekom certainly cannot.

I agree that everyone has to decide for themselves whether to use coax and LAN or just LAN. There are of course also Unicable systems (JESS), where there is less cabling effort with Sat because you can connect all the sockets in series. But the receiver must also support this.
