Hi , we are also getting fiber optic installed in our new building, but I wanted to network the house with CAT7 cables. Cat 7 is, I believe, 100Gb. Fiber optic according to Telekom is 100Mbit. Cat 7 should be more than enough then, or am I mixing something up? And what did you pay for your fiber optic cables? I thought they were significantly more expensive than Cat7 cables.

Neither, but since I'm not a complete linguistic failure, I can at least read and understand both languages...

But back to the topic, Astra 19.2 and Hotbird is the usual combo that can be received in our regions without much effort. Astra 2 is because of the US and UK.

I have 16 cables from the 4 LNBs to the multiswitch and from there 8 cables to the satellite sockets in the rooms.

The multiswitch then distributes all signals at the right time to the right receiver.

You have to point the antenna at any satellite... you’ll find the others to the left and right... they are all above the horizon...

You are mixing everything up. You are talking about internet INTO the house. Cat.7 is copper and it has a limit (wherever that is… but I doubt it’s 100Gb). Fiber optic is fiber optic and that's currently "basically" unlimited… even a petabyte could go through that. I am talking about the cabling INSIDE the house, not to the house. Be glad if you get FTTH (fiber to the home)… I am getting that too. With an additional cost of 31,000 EUR. Welcome to Germany (third world when it comes to internet). We are building in a NEW BUILDING! area and the idiots from Telekom laid copper instead of fiber there… well… now they can nicely charge me!

So, in our new development area, fiber optic cable is laid all the way into the house right from the start.

How much does the fiber optic cable that you installed inside the house yourself cost?

what interfaces do you use for fiber optic? Even you fail 1 Gigabit from Cat6 and 10 Gigabit from Cat7 on most interfaces in the end. As mentioned elsewhere, most TVs nowadays come with 100 MBit.

not at all. I simply installed InLine LWL Duplex cables. The cost per meter should be around 1 EUR.
