No, we are oldies, we have time. Besides, these Mediterranean plants are all easy to care for, no fertilizer. We have 2 x 240l bins for green waste, which are emptied every 2 weeks. Additionally, we bring green waste to the depot ourselves up to 4 times a year for free. Twice a year, green waste is collected for free in larger quantities at the roadside.

I used to have over 40 roses, but because of the heat, I don’t feel like it anymore. They bloom amazingly in spring for a month, again in autumn for 3 weeks, and suffer in between. And you have to fertilize, fertilize, spray, etc., I don’t feel like doing that anymore.

Maybe you should mention that it is not a German garden in terms of the climate ;)

Thank you. :) Please excuse the late reply, I was, rightly, banned for a few days. Unfortunately, I repeatedly made the same mistake and I am very grateful to the moderation that I was not completely banned. I need to practice sometimes responding less impulsively and more thoughtfully ... this is also a good exercise for the rest of life.

I wanted to temporarily deviate from the approved main terrace because at the time it was drawn into the plan, we had not yet thought about the outdoor area. I was also not aware that terraces are subject to approval if they lie within the building envelope, which is why I/we did not attach any importance to that.

Under the pavilion in the carport area, I wanted to park the car, for my husband's sake. The forum dissuaded me from this tasteless idea. During my ban, it turned out that we will build a garage. As soon as I have pasted it into my plan and the forum’s suggestions have been incorporated into my plan, I will present it here in this thread (not a new thread, ;-) dear ).

Beds with putti, hmm, charming but borderline in taste. ;-) What I definitely want is one of those stone towers that look like the stones were randomly stacked and everything could collapse at any moment ... they always make me laugh when I see them somewhere. I want to set up such a stone tower in the front garden because I think it might bring joy to the neighborhood children ... we will see if they often poke it, hoping it will fall over. ;-)

You really know the situation very well. Thank you for your precise and helpful view.

I am. :)

Wow, that is a great design. I have to print it out right away and transfer it to my plan. Thanks for that, you really have excellent ideas.

I understand you if the terrace is recognizable as a terrace and used as a terrace. In my case, I just stand there with a tea or a glass of wine and "look". If we lay out a "circular path" that is paved, then I just stand on the circular path.

We bought the last free lot in a "new development area" that was developed about 15 years ago, so all gardens are very nice and well-kept, each garden in its own way. I don’t want to stand out negatively there. It is unpleasant when signs of neglect become visible in an otherwise well-maintained area.

You’re right. I can also well imagine sitting in the grass there sometimes. It’s "actually" more an exit for kitchen work breaks or a little glass of sparkling wine in between.

I didn’t understand this "regulation" in the thread of another forum member and wanted to look it up. Also because our neighbors illegally built two driveways and another carport on our side. I don’t know if that has an influence on our distance acceptance. However, the second driveway and additional carport were not approved. Do you know if the enforcement of distance acceptances can also apply if neighbors build something without approval?

These photos are really beautiful and stimulate my imagination. I may be able to implement one or another detail in our garden and will then post photos here. Thanks for this insight into a wonderful dream garden. :)

I regret that you gave up your rose garden, I understand it the way you describe it, but it’s okay. I want to start with a few roses, all in yellow and pink colors, and see how it develops.

At the end, once again my apologies to those who did not read my entire post that I reply so late due to the ban mentioned at the beginning, which was justified and understandable.

Why neglect? You haven't finished planting and you are simply proceeding step by step. As long as something is happening regularly. It's something different than thorns and weeds, a hedge that already protrudes into the street and isn't cut there. We are far from finished with our garden. OK, much of it is manual labor, especially the rest now. It is being observed, every plant is scrutinized, it is commented on. No one has yet criticized piles of stones, sand, and gravel, only the prairie bed was classified as untidy. For that, we have 15 m of sandstone wall with 2 visible sides, 20 m with one visible side, and every plant is adapted to its location. Many old cultivars, modern things like a prairie bed, a small orchard (which was simply sown at short notice with a wildflower mix and partly vegetable garden. The planting season was over. The nursery only sells the historic varieties bare-rooted. Well, then it will continue in autumn), a desert garden is coming in autumn/spring. A shade garden will come after that and finally the cottage garden. Proceed at your own pace. Other people's gardens have not grown overnight.

There are also wild roses, which are not as demanding as typical garden roses. However, the blossoms are not quite as expansive and some of them have quite a spreading tendency...

Depending on the garden concept, even a finished garden can stand out. I wouldn’t orient myself to the neighbors with the garden but would look for my own concept. And if you then have total wilderness in the middle of a golf lawn, then that’s just how it is ;)
