But I have to warn you, I think I've already made myself unpopular in the short time I've been here, but it breaks my heart when you realize that someone ignores all warnings and downplays them. I will never comment on that again, it’s not my life.
What I point out is only something I have experienced myself.
Today, we almost ended up with a building ruin, a castle in the air, so to speak.
If there is no proper buffer for additional financing, then good night.
Since the construction began, the construction supervising expert has been the most important person on the site for me, even though I come from the construction sector. I noticed several things myself, but he also confirmed them. The whole situation also led to me working in a different profession now. My nerves couldn’t take it anymore.

So I couldn't find anything that would suggest unpopularity. But speaking of ignoring warnings, I’m definitely a candidate for that. Here in the forum, I’ve often been described as having a "negative learning curve." And I could also do without advice like demolition or sale, and how mean I supposedly am to the dear craftsmen, so that I shouldn’t be surprised by their work/performance or behavior. I only report from personal experience, but it’s so extreme that it’s hardly believable. In any case, it’s easier for me to give advice than to take it = resistant to advice. Although my situation is so special that there’s nothing to be done with advice anyway.

I’m really sorry for you. At what construction stage are you now? Did I read correctly that you have been building since October 2018 and not living in it yet? That is about as long as it took us, it was 1.5 years later. For us, everything got better from a certain point on; we finished building with local, well-known craftsmen. The trouble was before and around that. But it is almost over. It’s also important to be able to talk things out; my parents patiently listened to my construction problems for years. By the way, it’s true, I also like to give advice. But advice can also hurt. If a craftsman doesn’t want to and blocks, you can’t achieve anything by talking. I was often told that I was not their client. My expert was also not welcome. And at that time no tip could help, and if you are constantly asked how this can be, how that can be... it wears you down. You can’t know beforehand what might come your way. It was an exceptional situation that was not normal and does not exist in that constellation.

So, I have now sat down again and written a small summary from the start of construction up to a year ago. To be continued. If you're interested, you can read it in my new thread "Das Fleischerhaus ....".
