Garden house picture thread - Show us your garden house pictures

The chicken breed is chosen by my wife based on beginner-friendliness, robustness, and likeability. Egg production is secondary. No rooster. I will report.

This year, as my first contacts in chicken breeding told me, no wing shows took place. The breeders' coops are therefore too full before winter and they are reducing their stocks. Many currently also have to send breeding-suitable animals to the cooking pot. Next season they want to show fresh offspring again. For me, it’s still too early, but the time could be favorable for you.

Current favorite chicken breed: Australorp.

Australorps are a good choice! Yesterday I "got" 2 chickens, Bantam Plymouth Rocks. Temporarily, they can become holiday chickens at one of the children. But I will have to hurry a little more with the construction of the coop and aviary than I thought.

In October, we gave our garden shed a sheet metal roof and proper gutters. That makes a big difference visually. To secure the garden shed during storms, we had long strap hinges concreted into the foundation at the 4 corners. (through the eyelet of the strap hinge, a piece of rebar beforehand and then thick concrete on top.. see 2nd picture). The hut is screwed in with that. Our old lawn edging stones are used in the foundation. We solved the puzzle for that on the computer beforehand ;)
