At 3.20m you need a fairly sharp angle. If your gate is less than 5m wide, I wouldn’t even try. And it certainly won’t be fun either. But, trying is worth more than studying. It’s your property, so get some marking nails from the hardware store and some barrier tape.

Basically, in such a situation I would rather take a parking bay directly at the driveway, with generous width. Drive forward in from the street, reverse into the bay, and then drive forward out again.

Also keep in mind that you might come with a trailer sometime or even just have something like a bike rack on the back of the car.

Attached is a picture of the overall situation. a=Access road, b=us, c=neighbor.

As already mentioned, the path is too narrow at 3.20 meters, that won’t work like that. And if it does, you’ll have to move forward and backward several times. We have a similar situation (reversing onto a public road), but the road is about 6 m wide. And I need about 4.5 to 5 m, both going in and out. Our gate is only 4 m wide though. But our car isn’t very big either.

Which specific regulations support accessing your garage via the neighbor’s driveway instead of directly from the street? And who actually owns the rear access road? I think the entire property planning deserves a review here.

The property "a" is divided by condominium ownership (WEG), "b" and "c" are each divided physically. According to the municipality's parking space regulations, 2 parking spaces are mandatory. In addition, garages/carports are explicitly not allowed to be placed within an 8m strip in the "front gardens" facing the street because greenery is desired there. Furthermore, building lines must be observed. If we were to place the garage towards the street side, we would then have to orient our terrace to the northeast (i.e., where the garage is currently planned)

We could theoretically also widen the driveway there at the top left by paving our property there (i.e. moving the area where "Fahrräder" is to the right). The question would be how much space is needed. Trying it on site is currently impossible because there is still a "construction pit" from the demolished old building at that spot. Isn't there some kind of online simulator?
