Then there are always problems with cleaning, aren't there? Even the roller shutters can no longer be cleaned. No matter how often that is necessary.

It is not impossible. There are special things with a magnet (slide on the outside, sponge on the inside) so that you can still clean the roller shutters from the inside (if anyone really ever does that).

That’s exactly how we have it. Maybe I used the term French balcony incorrectly for it. The pane is installed in the window frame, is nearly invisible, and when the Venetian blinds/roller shutters close, they are covered and therefore not visible from the outside at all.

:D Not always, but from the upper floor I like to look down into the garden at an angle.
Or put differently: There is no ADVANTAGE in seeing some crossbars either. At least not for me. Pigeons or the like surely think quite differently about that.

The thing with cleaning the blinds is a super valuable tip. I never thought of that at all! And that's despite the fact that I already have a blind that I cannot clean from the inside and therefore it annoys me hugely with the crushed insects inside.
