Floor plan single-family house 2 full floors ~180m² living area - 760m² plot

Where would you rather see it? We don’t want that thing in front of the house by the street, actually I don’t want to see it at all - which is why we had planned to place it behind the garage.

But preferably not in the lounge area/terrace - you can also make the thing a bit more invisible with a hedge in the front yard

We have already "distanced" ourselves from the recess, as nice as we find it visually.

I would just wait and see what the new planning brings before I say goodbye.

However, we still like this detail if we simply close off the garage behind us and could go directly into the house from there.

Usually, this detail bends a design that could be good without it.
You are in the situation of building with a basement and thus using the utility room in a typical house…

The others work pretty well - at least in terms of rough assessment and the desired passage to the garage.
Personally, I am rarely wet or blown away without a roof between carport and entrance. I also prefer to go through our front door - I treat it the same way as my dishes: my expensive things are not only for my Sunday guests but are used by me every day. And I can really imagine more pleasant things than entering my main hallway from the car exhaust into the garage and then through a storage room or a bare hallway. I treat the front door this way: unlock and feel the cozy interior of my house ;)

Now, after a few days of reflection, one has to say that the plan has probably become a monstrosity born from our preconceptions about the plan, combined with the desired spatial program + utopian ideas about usability in old age as well as separable living units. [...] In retrospect, we probably "bent" the planner and imposed our "plan" on her.

This confession should actually be printed millions of times on fortune cookie slips by the Federal Agency for Civic Education, so that every builder reads it in time!

The planner for the homebuilder initially presented us with 2 plans, which with 8x11m are probably to be seen as "long floor plans", here the entrance was also each time centrally located on the gable side with staircase layout either straight in the middle or as in the proposal by @Würfel*. [...] Would the attached floor plans be "better" candidates in your eyes?

Unfortunately, these are all incomplete upper-lower floor sets, and where are those from the planner?

What can I understand as a "compact floor plan"? Would you possibly have an example for this?

That is just a generic term for square and nearly square floor plans (as well as for freeform ones, mainly with a point-like center).
