When playing, always draw the existing or desired furniture to scale. Consider that at the table edge at least 80 cm are needed on each side. For example, a table 1 m wide requires at least 2.6 m of space, and that is not comfortable.

I can actually appreciate the exterior view. I don’t think it’s bad. On the other hand, I really don’t like the entire kitchen and dining area. It’s way too cramped. You can never place a table of that size there, and the island doesn’t deserve the name. For me personally, this area is extremely important. Therefore, I would think carefully about how my dream kitchen should look (For me, for example, a free-standing island of about 3.60m with cooking and sink on it and a secondary line boxed in with two tall cabinets on each side and centrally still base cabinets for a coffee corner, preferably with pocket doors + a table at least 2.40 longer with generous movement space around it).

The kitchen is also very important to us. We will soon meet with a kitchen planner whom we know well so that the rough planning of the kitchen can proceed simultaneously. The architect also said that the kitchen can easily be made longer.

The kitchen has the problem of the square room in the plan ... approx. 5.5 x 5.5 m

As Haydee has already pointed out, the table should be taken into account ... You have also planned terrace exits.
The problem is that a table of 250x100 cm requires 450x300 cm of space for reasonable seating with chairs. About 100 cm around the table. The way the room is conceived now — also with access to the pantry through the tall cabinet wall — this will be a rather difficult kitchen/dining room to plan. I just remembered a kitchen in another forum. Google "Neue Küchen in unseren entstehenden Traumhaus" Robeck ... There might be planning tips there. The room there was even only about 510x530 cm in size, also with a passage through the hallway into the living area.

You can rotate the cooking island and make it a bit longer. This way, it doesn't work.
