It is very important to first draw a section to see how (un)high the attic can actually be, i.e. where there is standing height. And then top down the attic first – and with all downspouts! – that’s how "it works out".

I have now received a more detailed plan from the architect, who has restructured everything a bit so that it fits better. What, however, remains is that you can walk from the hallway to the open living/dining room or the kitchen without any separate partition such as a door. Aside from the higher heating costs, is there any reason not to do it this way?

Food smells in the rest of the house, lack of soundproofing, faster death in a zombie apocalypse.
None of these are dealbreakers for most people, but you just have to think it through...

Phew, I could live with all of that but my greatest concern would be the zombie apocalypse….

I see nothing to be able to say anything… I am curious.

these 60m2 living halls are also very difficult to furnish, cozy they are very very rare. There are x inquiries in another community, where for example someone also has a very expensive kitchen on the right side of the plan with a €6k Berbel skyline on the ceiling, in the middle, sort of as an extension of the house entrance a table and on the left side of the plan a corner sofa, TV board and large window front. That's it. There are x such examples. The halls are loud, get very hot in summer, you spend a lot of time behind blinds, in the evening the window fronts are black, reflective surfaces. There are no niches, no cozy corners, nothing.
