correct, the T is probably load-bearing. Or it will be extremely complicated.... otherwise you can put the utility room in the basement and have another staircase down there.

The basement stairs do the exact opposite. When viewed from the ground floor, it still gives the impression of a straight staircase. I really like it now. I just want to say that you shouldn't stubbornly cling to the straight staircase.

Yes, completely made of raw steel. Only oiled. But it is not slippery at all. This staircase was on display at a stair manufacturer in Munich. We came across it by chance. He then made it. Something different from wood and we wanted it very delicate.

I actually know a good locksmith who designs all kinds of things and had therefore already thought of some kind of metal solution. Now, with the picture and the info, I can imagine it better; I just had some concerns about the slip resistance.
