EXACTLY – that is the solution! We have a tape measure in the car and everywhere; always and everywhere immediately see whether this or that measurement - FOR US - feels comfortable. Some here have partly fixed ideas that simply don’t apply to us because we have an individual sense and don’t have to jump on every bandwagon that goes down the river. Of course, there are many sensible standards, which is very good, and we deal with them. Nevertheless, it absolutely makes sense to always put all these measurements and distances to the test again for yourself to see if they really fit your behavior and preferences.

...but I would like to fully understand that thought. We consciously decided on an Ikea kitchen but with self-chosen appliances, in which I am currently sitting. When I see other kitchens more often, I wouldn't know what I should have done differently and I always look at them more closely. I used to have the direct comparison in the house; Nolte upstairs and Ikea downstairs. If you bring a bit of imagination, I gladly choose Ikea; also with regard to the costs, of course. The noticeable difference for me would be if you make a real leap upwards. But then you shouldn't have to worry about other costs in the house either.

Yes, we have actually already measured distances a lot.
For most things, it certainly fits.

For the wardrobe, I was thinking of something narrow for hanging.
What do you think the minimum width would need to be?
We found 1m of space next to a cabinet is not that little.

The living room, for example, needs to be 4m to allow distance between the sofa and the TV.
The distance from the block to the kitchen is measured. In our current kitchen, it is quite tight, but just barely works.

....which in turn depends on the size of the TV, windows, and sofa furniture as well as your very own preference for the use of a living room.

IKEA does not build bad kitchens, but the selection is limited. In my last apartment, I couldn't install an IKEA kitchen because (at least in 2006) they didn't have 40cm and 45cm base cabinets, which I would have needed. That may have changed.

We have a custom carpenter kitchen. Cheaper than Bulthaup, more expensive than IKEA. But individual. I have base cabinets with the dimensions 67.5cm x 81cm because we have extra depth (over 80cm) and then divided the remaining length between two base cabinets, which resulted in 67.5cm. That way, we didn't need a cover panel anywhere, and we could use all the space.
