Think about the floor plan 10 years ahead. When your teenage kids come home at 1 a.m. and want to take a bath. Or when the first boyfriend/girlfriend comes home and they want to share the bath together. I certainly wouldn’t like it if they had to go through my bedroom first. You could probably even hear the teenagers going to the kitchen again at night with this layout. Just a thought.

It was not intended (or planned) for the children to go into the parents' area. That was requested by the client side and planned accordingly. :) The note to the OP is of course great so that they deal with the pros and cons. After that, you can always modify.

... then apparently someone failed early on to give them a good talking-to :-)

I already wrote that I liked the floor plan, but that doesn’t mean we will adopt it completely as is. The master bedroom was deliberately designed so that you can go to the bathroom separately without having to go through the bedroom again. I have looked through (almost) everything. However, we had previously, which I didn’t mention, also lived in owned property and also had a bungalow. We simply like this concept of "everything on one floor" and we feel comfortable there. Unfortunately, the bungalow was "oversized" in terms of size (258 sqm) and for my wife it was too much work to clean. That’s why now it should be something where we can still live reasonably, have enough space, but not too little, so that we can also easily avoid each other sometimes. I already passed on the idea of the "livable" attic to the architect yesterday, who now wants to take care of it and plan the roof so that we use one part only as storage and another part still as living space. Maybe we will then put the children’s rooms upstairs, or the bedroom; but I haven’t given that any thought yet.

Yes, hopefully only almost, overall that is quite a lot. But aside from the property change, there was also the "change of mind" away from specifically a bungalow towards a bungalow or alternatives. So you already have bungalow experience, but the previous bungalow was/has been planned too large and without separability? - then show it here, and maybe you will get ideas from on how one could have better separated a granny flat with a different design of the bungalow. Because if the only thing that bothered you about the previous bungalow was the size, I would still include it in the discussion.
