Well, the quickest solution would probably be to place the kitchen on the opposite wall. But then the question quickly arises how much light remains on the dining table, which brings us back to the southeast-facing windows. Whether the dining table is easier to get around is also yet to be clarified.

I had an apartment with a layout like the living room - but as a studio, so without a workspace and upper floor and instead of a living room just a sleeping/living area. I do know that you immediately stand in the living room, but I didn’t like having to always go through the kitchen. I’m not crazy about cleaning, but I was constantly cleaning and tidying up because everything just ended up there. And it was the first thing you saw.

We now have a 6 m long and 3.5 m wide kitchen-living room and it’s really tight and full with two elementary school children (and a big dog). The dining table is 1 m wide and 1.8 m long and the two Tripp Trapps simply need a lot of space compared to the normal four chairs. And it’s always chaotic since the boys can make their own snacks and the older one often has friends over. “Momma, we’re making some sandwiches.” After that the kitchen needs a pressure wash. It feels like the kids spend 50 percent of their waking time in front of the fridge. I’m glad our living room is far enough away from it.

But there are still 50 sqm missing…
(Where is the camera crew supposed to go?)

Everything has already been “chewed over” here and all points have been addressed. “Finished.”

I am looking forward to the update.
Although, I already know how it will look. ;)

Is this already complaining at a high level or still justified criticism of the floor plan? It should be clear that not everyone can build a castle. On the other hand, the extension in my opinion burns a lot of space and money which would be more important in the communal area. Besides the tightness in the dining area, there is also a lack of storage space for cabinets in the entire living area. The narrow shelf behind the sofa is just a token. You can neither get to it well nor does it have valuable usable space. The continuous floor-to-ceiling windows are visually appealing but ensure that there is no storage space under the windows either. With two children, that will be a daily struggle. I agree with .

What I don't like about the design is the large number of narrow doors. With a raw construction size of 63.5 cm, how much glass width is left? Probably something around 40 cm. The wall thickness will also be somewhere in that range. These contribute very little to the lighting of the room, which is one of the main tasks. Even with a 1 m door, only 75-80 cm of glass remains.

I think that is a very important remark! Thx :) D
I have already pointed that out too, but with the combination of knowing now whether 45... 50cm wall thickness, one should almost only be able to consider the individual sun rays that actually arrive somewhere inside.

Yes, that bothers me a lot too. You can hardly place a dresser for the clean look, or another cupboard anywhere.

I played around a bit. The square meter floor area roughly matches the original... Furniture is for scale, , wardrobe 200, closet 300, table 200 x 100... Doors I have hidden behind cupboards, even though I don't like it (as everyone wants it now ;))
Windows nicely symmetrical :D
Maybe there is one or two ideas for usage - otherwise I believe the architect now has to fiddle with what's existing.
