I don't think that's bad.
No idea if that works structurally, one could then also make just one door for the living and dining room right at the stairs and maybe move the fireplace to the exterior wall at the bottom of the plan (south?). Possibly, however, the window arrangement would have to be changed then.

Where is the terrace? Garden? Is there a picture/plan of the property?

The bay window in the house, in my opinion, offers no added value; due to the arrangement of the kitchen/dining area, it is completely unnecessary downstairs, and upstairs in the bathroom, one could also do without it.

I find Romeo's suggestion worth considering, but I would eliminate the shower on the ground floor.

The proposal from of course eases the situation, but let's be honest: the location of this enclosed staircase is not good for the house at all. And even if we now eliminate one or two planning errors around the staircase, this staircase still remains, where it simply does not belong.

That is certainly true. Maybe OP should first comment on whether changing the staircase (and thus the entire floor plan) is an option.

I find Romeo's draft somewhat better. But my first gut feeling is that a lot of square meters are simply wasted. You could achieve the same homely experience with fewer square meters, just with a different layout. However, I'm not a layout expert. I suspect that taking the layout as a starting point and shifting a few walls won't get you much further than what would be possible. It already starts with leaving out the bay window. It doesn't bring you anything and omitting it saves you real money. You can also do the bathroom upstairs wonderfully without the bay window.

I agree.

But with Romeo's draft, I would swap the WC and the utility room. Personally, I really dislike having the WC directly next to the living areas.

And if the cooking area really turns out like that, you end up hitting your arm against the wall while cooking, and you can only place a pot or something similar on one side.

With 22 sqm, it can definitely be done better!
