well, if it weren't for the [Garage], I would put a window on that side and the sofa could then go on the west wall. but as it is, it's actually difficult.
Placing the couch like that in the room is often done, just like recently placing the couch in front of floor-to-ceiling windows, I don’t like that either, but how else should it be done? Where else should you squeeze the TV?
that’s why people discuss here, to avoid repeating all the mistakes

As I already said: the south needs more windows. I would swap the living room window with the narrow window in the middle on the south side. The living room would then have enough space for furniture. Even if you like to place the sofa in the middle as at Ikea, you might want to put it against the wall later.
It depends on what you want to do in the living room....we only watch TV there and otherwise sit at the dining table....therefore our living room is mini....
I wouldn't know what the OP's living room has to do with your preferences?

Overall, in my opinion, this plan loses too much space and too much window area on the chocolate side of the house. The living room is too narrow because of the stair position and the garage causes a lack of windows on the right side of the plan. In the end, there is enough light, but the possible arrangements are limited just like the feeling of space. It looks more like an unloved TV corner rather than a cozy evening retreat.
