I assumed that in a house without a basement, the space under the stairs is definitely used as storage, and then there is only a maximum of 1.0m hallway left upstairs, which is only 0.95m. And then smaller or bigger children run through there with school bags... impossible

Yes, you are basically right. Although not implemented here, in a house of this size, rarely anything else is possible, at least not with these spatial requirements.

By the way, I had mistaken the HKV for the utility room door and mentally left out the correct door.

I also took another look at the bedroom.
Absolutely no-go: there is no space to get up!

As an example from our place: back then we didn’t think much about it, but a little. Since we have a 160 cm bed (gross width 170 cm), we chose a room width of 340 cm, and it could still use 30 cm more, because a chair or a picture on the wall also want space. You don’t build so that you later have to squeeze your body during routine movements.
This also applies to the dining area.

Regards, Yvonne

In order for the floor plan to work, the house would need to be at least 2.5m longer and about 1.0m wider.

Tight, but the two types I mentioned with 9 x 9.5 m even manage the straight staircase perpendicular to the ridge (which eases the corridor width). Basically, a straight single-flight staircase is a space eater, since it involves a lot of circulation area; in addition, it is also the most critical regarding direction of travel.

Thank you very much for your comments! The sunlight situation is partly intentional because a) we currently have our living room/kitchen/dining area on the south side, and I find it pleasant only in winter; as soon as it gets sunny, the room temperature quickly reaches 26 degrees and more, which is personally too warm for me, b) a friend of mine also recently built, living room/terrace on the west side, she says she is totally happy with this decision, and her neighbors, who have a south-facing terrace, keep adding all kinds of sun protection, c) we did not find an optimal south orientation on this plot. Of course, it’s all subjective, I would have liked more light in the rooms, but at the moment I am out of ideas.
P.S.: The carport is planned to the left of the entrance (I know, wasting sunlight again, oops)
