Absolutely. A long 7 Series with full leather but a 1.6-liter engine would be sitting rusty at the annual car dealer.

First of all, the basics:

There are more than enough discussions about this here in the forum. The search function at the top right is your friend.
But ultimately, it’s your decision. It is still allowed without one.

You can basically write a lot in your comments, as we do too... but is it correct?! You see many things differently, sometimes "blinded," sometimes dreamy... We are here to point out already made mistakes in houses or experiences. And believe me: my partner and I don’t need a T, no privacy screen, and are otherwise healthy. But a second toilet greatly relaxes the daily schedule and morning routine, and thus life in the house. You don’t have to rush or wait... if the bladder is full, then you go into the shower? Oh no...

Yes, why not? Before I read the text, I want to see a drawing. It can also be a sketch in a notebook.

It’s not about taste, but I really like it too. The thing, including chimney and structural efforts for the wooden ceiling, will probably cost you about 20-25,000€ (if the fireplace costs 15,000€). And are you aware that you may not be allowed to operate it often?

Many people have nice things, but you are building differently. Surely they also have a different room layout/house, etc... many things can be nice, but you don’t have to have them.

Who told you this fairy tale?

Completely wrong approach: cutting out desires is destructive and makes you sad. Deleting a floor plan on the computer is also destructive ;)

No one told you to give up on it either.

Why?

Tell us the arguments why an east-facing bedroom is nice? I don’t know your daily routine, but if you get up in summer mornings, you don’t want your eyes open for that. On weekends it is already further away, namely towards the south. In winter, east doesn’t matter, just like west, regarding the sun’s position. For bedridden people—although you are not, as you said—the east side is perfect.

Great!

I took this into account in the simulation. But honestly: where do the 35 cm come from? ;)

Honestly? Since you won’t move away from the scaffold of the 15x15 villa anyway, why should I bother thinking about it?
But I quickly drew a house with the room program and orientation.. that would be the starting point for me.

Welcome to the neighborhood. You are one of them now :)

Is that so bad? You pick the hedge yourself...

Great format!

That’s true.

The west sun behaves like the east sun.

May I ask what this covers?
What does your calculation look like for everything?

I forgot the attachment with the initial sketch I would probably then try to stretch it

I also don’t want to harp on it. :p
Funny to read:

...

The latter reads as if you’re skipping a guest toilet because then you can’t show off your "nice bathroom" ;)

I find it inappropriate to so persistently demand a second bathroom when the OP clearly says they do not want it. What is your problem with that? People have different amounts of visitors anyway. The OP probably knows how it is for them.

I often find it amusing how some here want to present themselves as the perfect hosts of high society. They then claim "Guests should be guided to the sofa for a drink [sic!]." Or entire kitchens are planned for evenings when guests are expected, and supposedly the show stove must be installed facing the guests in the kitchen to put the finishing touches on the 10-course menu while the aperitif is sipped together. Yeah, right. It probably happens 3 times a year, and on the other 362 evenings of the year the show kitchen is full of schoolbooks and other stuff.

I think it’s great that the OP sticks so persistently to their needs and doesn’t let themselves be talked into something because "one" does it better that way. Stay with it!
