Should there be a shower in the bathroom on the ground floor? We have similar dimensions without a shower; it looks quite long (until we shorten it with a cabinet or something similar). We had planned the bathroom and wardrobe similarly and luckily rotated the partition wall between them by 90 degrees. That doesn't take up as much space but makes it feel more spacious. You definitely should plan the kitchen; it could be difficult with the offset in the exterior wall combined with the wall outlet for the sliding door. The distance between couch and TV could possibly be shortened in favor of the office. The window near the TV will cause glare (it's similar for us; it's on the north side and even in winter we often had the blinds down). I find the upper floor overall a bit unfortunate, though not entirely terrible. It's a shame about the cramped bedroom (try to vacuum under the bed with 60 cm of space), that the dressing room is only accessible through the bedroom, and that the hallway is quite large.

Thank you for your hints!

We have left it open so far. There was one at the back end, but it was very cramped. That way there is still space for furniture on the wall. What do you mean by the partition wall?

That’s true, the window will often be closed. However, it is important for the exterior view and we kept the window on advice. Moving the TV closer is not possible, then the furniture would be in front of the terrace door. We measured and discussed a lot there and in the end realized that the extra space is not wasted, since the room is mainly used by everyone throughout the day.

I completely agree with you. However, the width is only because it is a waterbed, flush with the floor, so there is nothing to vacuum under. A “normal” bed would not be that wide.

If the terrace is at the top, then one might possibly consider swapping the kitchen and living room. I would strongly recommend kitchen planning as well. The refrigerator somehow looks quite lonely.

I would be interested in exterior views .. because all the projections and recesses also limit the spatial possibilities.

Mhh yes, you are absolutely right about the kitchen planning. I just measured again. Although it is only a 4cm difference, I have to admit that was an unauthorized change; in the planning, the opening direction and thus the long wall were the opposite. So, probably [Kommando zurück].

Currently, the wall runs from west to east. Rotate -> wall from south to north

Similar space conditions in the WC itself and the hallway becomes larger, making the cabinets there easier to access.
Just note that the wardrobe now only has 1.44 m. If a cabinet with a depth of 60 cm is put in there, you can hardly pass by the open door anymore.
(as said, we had planned similarly, but even allowed 1.6 m RBM...)

Hm, I’m afraid you are severely limiting yourselves by the façade offsets. The thing with the TV, pantry, and kitchen probably cannot be changed either, because otherwise the façade would have to be altered. I find the pantry facing south a bit strange, for example.

I also measured and weighed every CM once. But there is still plaster to come, and if a bricklayer works 2 cm too far to the left, you will probably only notice that when exactly those 2 cm are missing when setting up the furniture later...
