I find the living room area still a bit dark and would insert a high-lying strip window in the upper wall in the plan. No one can see in, but light comes in. We have that too and I have to admit, it was initially only my husband's wish, I thought it was unnecessary but now I’m really glad about it, otherwise the corner wouldn’t be so nicely bright.

We don’t have our chill corner there, but the piano and phonograph corner, and without the window it would be quite dark despite the large window facing forward. You can make the strip window a bit narrower if you wish. By the way, ours is fixed, not openable, because it can be cleaned easily from the outside and the frame remains narrower that way.

Thank you, it really looks very nice at your place.

We also had that on our radar once, but I can't get comfortable with the idea of lying on the sofa and seeing every shadow (car, peddler, milkman) that comes up the driveway rushing by.

I like it in terms of the light.

I would also take more windows on the ground floor. Everywhere terra doors to the garden... the milkman comes through the carport anyway...

If you make it high enough, no one can look inside. I once measured; our BH is 144 cm. However, that is from the inside; from the outside, it is higher because there is the driveway and the terrain slopes down. So from the outside, about 160 cm (once it's paved outside, even higher now). At most, you can see the top of someone's hair, or the peddler would have to be very tall. Besides, you still have a piece of property in between there; with us, people walk right past. I personally also think that the window strip could be even narrower, so the BH about 10 - 30 cm higher. Then no one can look inside anymore.

Kitchen: my favorite is and remains a two-line kitchen (with the ergonomically reasonable distance between 115 - 130cm) and in between a normal, slightly wider (110 - 120cm, because you can easily get through with a tray) patio door. This would also be suitable here.

I also raised my house and had a large (2.00 x 0.90 m) window installed in the kitchen at a height of 1.34 m. Because of the height, you can see nicely outside from the inside, but not inside from the outside. If needed, I can provide a picture.
