I quite like the side entrance. If those are steps to the house, the path from the wonderfully planned "bicycle room" to the street would be impractically obstructed (red arrow in the messed-up attached drawing). I would rather live with a ramp then. With the correct slope guidance, it will also fit harmoniously and trip-free to the vehicle parking space.
You create space and on the ground floor by leaving out walls. If the stairwell is to be sealed off - glass sliding door in front of it. (see sketch)
The need for light is apparently expressed differently. For me, the rooms would probably be too dark. Others may like the protective feeling of a cave - this is offered perfectly by the living area. It's just a matter of taste.
Tip: Consider high ceilings and take room acoustics into account.
