As far as I know, the standard is about 40 cm plus lid. My bathroom installer also asked me and advised me to add 5 cm, which I also had done. However, I am not exactly sure if he also assumed exactly 40 cm, I would have to measure it.

I find the current "higher and higher" trend with toilets bad. The ergonomically correct posture for using the toilet is squatting due to evolution. Only then does it go out smoothly without detours. The higher the buttocks are, the further away from the correct posture you are, which can make the process more difficult and possibly even lead to follow-up problems.

Therefore, I have my toilets installed low. And since older people often have more difficulties using the toilet than younger ones, I would especially pay attention to not raising it just for convenience when standing up. In my opinion, a handle is the better solution there.

As a small test: just place a small stool in front of the toilet and put your feet on it for a week.

Very good point - in the second to last place we also had age-appropriate living and my feet did not reach the floor...

I measured the guest toilet at my parents' because I have been really happy to sit there for years

Hello, we have a rimless toilet from Keramag, myDay series. Experience: never Keramag again. From the email correspondence:
"Dear Sir or Madam,
we are not complaining about a manufacturing defect but a design flaw. This defect is not visible upon delivery but only becomes apparent through daily use. You advertise this product as hygienic, clean, and easy to maintain, which we absolutely cannot confirm. After every use by a female person, the bowl and the toilet seat in the front area must be cleaned of urine splashes despite flushing (urine splashes between the bowl rim and the toilet seat).
We do not accept your offer to remedy the defect.
We urge you again to remedy this defect for us free of charge. If this is not possible for you, we insist on a return and refund."

Keramag only wants to supply a toilet with a rim for free but not refund the large price difference. Conclusion: We installed Keramag 20 years ago and were very satisfied. Now the complete renovation of the guest bathroom and this trouble with the rimless toilet. The renovation of the main bathroom next year will definitely be without elements from ablaufen.

Your post is somewhat unclear.
But be that as it may: the price difference and the hassle are not that big. And why should the entire guest bathroom be renovated because of dissatisfaction with the toilet?

Regards, Yvonne
