No, "complete" misplanning may be so, but thanks to the withheld "remaining 90%" ;-) of the presentation, it is not measurable in its full glory. A misplanning in the sense of a fully exploited naivety privilege of construction laymen is indicated by planning an extended hip roof (levels two and one of the unaffordability rocket) on a T-shaped floor plan (level three), equipping it with a knee wall (level four), and still talking about cost motives. "Schilling - not dollar," Falco once sang; here it is reversed. I am unsure whether to read Katja's suggestion to also amputate the hip roof as fine irony. ... which makes it all the more incomprehensible not to let us enjoy them. We certainly do not dislike Sim houses, we simply do not discuss them as supposedly buildable proposals. That the "dream house" from the perspective of a Sims house visualization programmer is an (ultimate) delicacy, I gladly believe - but unfortunately, that does not make it more buildable (nor affordable). The air castle bonus in construction financing, unfortunately, only exists on April 1st.

Thank you very much, that certainly makes it somewhat more understandable. I am generally a fan of good humor and a bit of sarcasm, but on this topic, objectivity helps me more. Otherwise, I could ask in the part-time cabaret forum what they think of the idea.

To the point: Of course, we are laymen in the field, but the plan does not come from us. The attic idea arose because we do not necessarily "need" a basement, but still want storage space and another room. And yes, it was probably naive to expect cost savings with the attic variant.

Here is an exterior visualization, and you are welcome to share your professional assessment:

Fine, objectivity has at least been served by reducing the withheld 90% of the planning to 87%. So I will gladly check back the day after tomorrow to see if the basis is already complete. After all, it should be used somewhere that this is not a cabaret forum ;-) By the way, the naivety does not lie in the attic instead of the basement, but in the choice first of the most expensive roof shape (and then also its distillation into the very very very most expensive of all - so cabaret at its finest, by no means part-time). My mother also always prefers it from the ladies’ menu ;-)

I have said it a few times already and am happy to repeat it for the newcomer here. I have a hipped roof and regret it. Sure, visually I prefer it to a supposedly old-fashioned gable roof, but it is expensive (for me about 3,000 EUR, maybe even more today), impractical (storage space), has less area for photovoltaics (the small trapezoids or triangles on the hip roof are really bad for photovoltaic modules) and the great look is usually not even visible to oneself. By the way, gable roofs can also look modern and stylish by playing with roofing, eaves, and pitch. At the start of planning, I was just still seduced by catalog pictures and the only small immediate price advantage made me mentally dismiss the gable roof. The indirect costs due to less storage space, less photovoltaics, worse ventilation options in the attic (no gable side for windows) I simply could not foresee back then. Well, with the next house, I will be wiser.

… The roof casts a lot of shade. In my opinion, there is too much of a brim.

That is true, but it is "intended" that way to have more height for the expansion and still reduce the bulkiness. The design without attic expansion has less overhang and is flatter.
