Was at the construction site again today and happened to look into the electricity meter cabinet. I almost fell over when I saw 12600 kWh... And we have just finished the shell construction. Our neighbor, who is much further along and finished with the screed, only has 8800 kWh on the meter. Both houses are similarly sized (living and usable area approx. 350 m2)

Unfortunately, I did not check if the meter was set to zero at installation – can it happen that this is not the case? I will call the site manager tomorrow and ask if this can be correct.

Of course it doesn’t have to be zero! It’s actually rather unlikely.

Our meter starting reading was 12541 in July 21 at the start of construction and 14120 in April 22 when the construction power was terminated. Your meter must also have had a certain starting balance.

We paid a total of €516.78 in consumption costs for construction power.

We have been supplied with construction electricity since 03.03.22. At the beginning, the meter showed 12,727, today on 27.05.22 it shows 13,349. However, our screed warming program with a mobile heating device has only been running since 24.05.22. Prior to that, the presumably known works such as civil engineering, house assembly (prefabricated timber frame construction, two full floors, size 9.40m x 9.40m) etc. took place.

Thus, we have used 622 kWh since the beginning of March. We pay a basic price of 210.68 euros per year and a gross 29.16 cents per kWh. From 01.06.22 we have to pay 32.38 cents per kWh. When the Renewable Energy Sources Act surcharge is removed from 01.07., the price will be reduced by a net 3.723 cents per kWh.

Since I have to ventilate the house at least twice daily anyway, I try to remember to photograph the construction electricity meter at least once daily so that we do not experience any unpleasant surprises.

In my calculation, I have set construction electricity and construction water at a total of 2,000 euros. Without concrete data basis, as I have no prior experience.

And when heating up, it only goes up 5° daily...

Also in our case, from today, 27.05.22, the temperature increases by 5° daily up to 45°, then hold 45° for five days, thereafter reduce by 10° daily until 25° is reached.

The only explanation I have is, on the one hand, the heating program via the external device (instead of the heat pump) as well as the ventilation and drying devices which ran over a very long period.

That's certainly the explanation. Very long sounds to me like many weeks/months. For whatever reason. You didn't give it any thought and the general contractor didn't care. The contract also didn't matter.
