Hello, I would like to revisit the topic.

Our plan: door from the garage to the basement hallway (hill house).
Door seller says we have to go with a fire protection door.
Architect says smoke protection is also important?

Our wish is motor lock + fingerprint, RC2!

I have two specific questions:

1) What is the legal requirement (State of Bavaria)?
2) Has anyone had a similar issue and found an affordable solution?

P.S. Hörmann quotes 8K€ for this combination door, that is too much money for a door for me.

Thanks for any tips / hints / experiences.

I have a vault door VDS1 with a combination lock between the garage and the basement. Is there also one with fingerprint? It was the safest door at an affordable price (around 2,000 euros).
To reassure the building authority, I installed a fire protection door from Hörmann on the other side of the wall (50cm) (200 euros).
If you get interested in a vault door, I can gladly send you the name of the company that builds good and affordable vault doors on request via PM.
The (advertising) market leader that comes up in the Google search is not it.

Thanks for your answer. I would like to know the manufacturer/distributor. Is one with a motorized lock available? Why did you have to install a fire protection door on top, is the safe door probably not available as fireproof?

Whether a safe door with a motor lock is available? No idea. You have to clarify that with the manufacturer.
I will send you 2 dealers via PM tomorrow. I still have to check.
The safe door is not a fire protection door. That’s why a T30 door. The building authority insisted on it.
