Hello Andy

I have named 2 safe dealers to you via PM. I consider them competent and inexpensive.
Whether they can install a lock like the one you favor, you have to ask.
I have an electronic combination lock on each side. Works wonderfully. You enter the 6 digits quickly and automatically.
And such a door is maximally secure. Before it gets broken open, the burglars go through the wall.
The only thing I would do differently today is to use a mechanical combination lock as a service lock. I have never had problems with the combination lock. But you never know. And you don’t always take a front door key with you. I enter the house from the garage anyway downstairs.

I am digging this up again because I actually have the same question, only related to a different federal state.

We have a door from the garage to the house. The construction is in Baden-Württemberg. The window manufacturer says it must be a fire protection door, the architect says a climate door (due to KFW55) is sufficient.

The GaVO of Baden-Württemberg states:

§ 8 Connection with other rooms
(1) Small garages may only be directly connected to rooms with different uses and to other buildings through openings with at least tightly closing doors; this does not apply to doors in walls that do not have to meet fire protection requirements.
(2) Open medium and large garages may only be directly connected to rooms not belonging to the garage and to other buildings through openings with at least fire-resistant and self-closing doors.
(3) Closed medium and large garages may be connected
1.
to corridors, stairwells, and elevators that do not serve only the garage, only through rooms with fire-resistant walls and ceilings as well as at least fire-resistant and self-closing doors opening in the direction of escape (safety airlocks); between safety airlocks and corridors or stairwells and elevator lobbies, self-closing and smoke-tight doors are sufficient; between safety airlocks and elevators in elevator shafts, elevator shaft doors,
2.
to other rooms and other buildings only through openings with at least fire-resistant and self-closing doors, unless more stringent requirements arise from a regulation according to § 38 para. 1 State Building Code or from a legal ordinance under § 73 para. 1 no. 2 State Building Code.
(4) Automatic garages may not be connected to rooms not belonging to the garage or to other buildings.

Small garages are defined by §1 para. 8 of the GaVO Baden-Württemberg as up to 100sqm.

In my opinion, only a "tightly closing door" must be installed here.

What is the experience of other builders in Baden-Württemberg regarding this?

: I see the same problem, how did you solve it?

If I interpret the GaVO BW correctly, a tightly closing secondary entrance door is sufficient, although most secondary entrance doors have a floor seal...

Are there any experiences with this? We are in Bavaria.
Do I really need a T30 door?
