For example, I only have single sockets in many places. If there is a greater need: buy a core drill, a box, and a new frame. The electrician from our [GU] also always simply multiplied the prices of the single socket.

I definitely have to remember that, that's a great tip!

And in the end, even with double sockets, the multiple power strips end up behind the cabinet again. Much more important than the number of sockets, which can actually be expanded almost arbitrarily without any problems afterwards, is the location of the sockets. Anyone who does not plan their furniture down to the minute... in the end, nothing fits anymore.

How have you stayed with it in the meantime? Have you already decided on an electrical configuration? We have just been through that as well. I was amazed at the offer. The media distributor for the network is supposed to be a joke. 1200€. According to the contract, we had 5 duplex LAN sockets included. Unfortunately, the service to actually use them afterwards was not included. Our electrician wanted to screw the patch panel, the switch, and the router to the wall. No way. I then bought the following things myself:

    [*]19" network cabinet
    [*]24 port patch panel
    [*]48 port LAN switch
    [*]LAN cables for the cabinet

Altogether, this probably cost me about 350€. We then "patched" the cables ourselves and tested them. Maybe you have someone in your circle of acquaintances for that. But 1200€ - never.

Electrical work was actually the most complex trade for us as well. We needed five attempts to go through and coordinate it with the electrician.

Afterwards, we went through his offer, the construction service description, and the contract separately, compared everything, and then found many things that did not fit.

How did you stay with him?

Hey thanks for the feedback. We agreed to keep all possible items as simple as possible and ended up at 8000€. We clarified all additional things with the electrician (employee) on site (surprise, the boss did not want to be there). Additional sockets 30€ etc. We even got the media distributor for free because it was apparently price-neutral...

Yes, perfect. That sounds like a good compromise. You have to take it slow. They really want to sell you everything. Many things you can really do yourself or have done later. Something like outdoor lighting, of course, not. What I still haven’t understood… what exactly is a media distributor?
