The point is that if sound insulation is important, any air gap is counterproductive. Of course, there are higher-class soundproof doors, but even a simple model is immensely upgraded if you follow the above-mentioned tips, which doesn’t cost anything extra. If you then add a drop-down seal underneath (costing about 50 EUR), you’re already quite ahead. Only the ventilation must be planned accordingly, otherwise, you’ll have issues with overpressure, noise, etc.

Manufacturers or sellers first offer everything that doesn’t directly cause problems, and it can also work. But as said, you should pay attention to the wind direction and keep a certain distance. As a builder, I would still question such a solution critically.
