We currently have all valves in the ceilings and will do the same in the next house. Regarding the planning, the architect, who is also an expert in controlled residential ventilation, made a proposal. We then told him which valves we wanted to move where – also because of other technology on the ceiling. In addition, we have rooms that have supply and exhaust air for soundproofing reasons, which was not considered in the first proposal. Based on this, the installer then performed the calculations and designed the system. That is how I would always do it because this way there are no conflicts with the planned furnishing, and the distribution is initially based on known best practices, which might not be the case if dictated by the client.

Interesting aspect!
Unfortunately, I was not aware of this possibility before and therefore ignored it.

Actually, the planned gaps under the doors worry me the most and at least in theory, they top the controlled residential ventilation disadvantages list :(

Well, strictly speaking, the ceiling outlets also have to be coordinated with the furnishings.
Distances to the taller cabinets, not in the living area of people underneath, etc. should be considered.

So everything has pros and cons! A supply air outlet in the floor, e.g. in front of a window, is easier to take into account that no furniture will be placed there for sure.

But you also have those without controlled residential ventilation with normal doors. Only when you work with drop-down seals or higher-quality soundproof doors does the gap disappear. They are, but we initially started with the architect’s "standard proposal".

If I understood correctly, the gap is somewhat larger than normal when using controlled residential ventilation?

Under certain circumstances, but the problem is not the size of the gap but the gap itself. (from the perspective of soundproofing)

I’m just going to rely on the ventilation planning from the manufacturer of the controlled residential ventilation (in our case Tecalor) – something reasonable will come out of it :D
