Sure, in principle only the second drilling is missing and the possibility of closure is basically only needed in the bathrooms.

Exactly, and for that there are even handles with integrated locks.

The manufacturer of our system has defined exact minimum distances here to prevent feedback. Ideally, two different sides of the building were even recommended, as can be seen in the manufacturer's graphic. That's how we did it.

I think this is a good hint to properly classify this here. We do not have any special requirements regarding soundproofing in this regard. In my parents' house there were only standard doors as well and that was completely sufficient. Maybe this comparison is not meaningful (because times and materials change), but ultimately one automatically compares with what one knows well and tries to emulate. One can definitely conclude that for the necessary air bypass, something must be done that negatively affects sound propagation, but possibly not necessarily or not to an extent that one finds disturbing. We will only know that later ;)

I assume we will rather be the faction "larger door gap at the bottom" and accept the possibly negative effect on sound.

What distance are you referring to here? With a combination connection, there is no room for manoeuvre between exhaust air and fresh air (despite the different directions they are pointing).

I was referring to the fact that outdoor air and exhaust air are located on the same facade (without a combination cover). However, this is probably always a makeshift solution that should be avoided if at all possible. The mentioned cover is unlikely to change much about this, because, as I said, there is also wind, which does not always move the outgoing air masses in the desired direction.

So for us, the following alternative to the combination cover (red/yellow on the west side) should be possible without real additional effort. The planner had already said that this is definitely feasible when I mentioned it. Then the exhaust to the terrace would be at about 3 meters height and the outside air intake on the west side (only red). This way most of the wind would be mitigated, if I understood correctly. I currently don't really see any other alternatives, as structurally everything else would only come with increased effort and increased costs.

(Don't pay attention to the light gray color of the roof element. My Sweet Home 3D skills are still limited)
