Saving 10,000 € in the year before buying a house is not enough. I agree with you on that. But I believe that very few households save 10,000 € per year after deducting vacation costs, etc. In my opinion, restricting your life before buying a house to save more is also not enough. Eventually, you want to live again and not just for the house. You also don't want to tell your child: Yes, we have a house, but no vacation or buying clothes. The 10,000 € should rather be there after buying the house.

From my point of view, it’s a win-win. On one hand, custody fees (?) would have to be paid and the other side enjoys a low-interest loan. I find that rather reasonable than inappropriate. In that context, I wouldn’t speak of "asking for a favor" but rather of "inquiring." Neither party is getting anything gifted.

So, I’ll just claim that anyone who can’t save at least €40,000 annually on a monthly net income of €6,800 simply doesn’t know how to handle money. In this case, there are even bonuses on top, so let’s say €45,000 to €50,000 should definitely be well within reach. I don’t know if, under these circumstances, you shouldn’t reconsider your consumption behavior rather than begging your own parents for money to cover the ancillary costs. Honestly, I’d be too proud for that. 0% financing is discouraged everywhere for kitchens and cars (“then you just simply can’t afford it”), yet for a massively higher investment, it suddenly becomes legitimate. Nope, this model isn’t for me either. :)

Well, if you have such a bad relationship with your parents that you already compare your own parents to Putin... well, then maybe I wouldn't want to borrow money there either. But that is not the normal case.

No. That's why our guideline was always that after deducting all costs (after building the house), at least €1,500 per month can be saved. By now, it’s almost €2,000 due to salary increases. Also, we never wanted to lower our standard of living; otherwise, we would have preferred to stay in a 70 sqm apartment building.
