Sorry, but you're not serious, are you? The 12kwp that are 'sowieso' going on the roof are also falling for free from the sky? And in November, the car charges for free in the drizzle in the afternoon 'sowieso'? That's no longer a simplistic calculation, even the cow calculates that herself.

A photovoltaic system is the only thing in the house that pays for itself, you should know that. The more you consume yourself, the faster it pays off. With an electric car, you kill two birds with one stone. You have higher self-consumption and save on fuel costs.

Well, the financing calculation for a photovoltaic system typically takes 15 to 20 years. I simply doubt that you will be able to get a heavily state-subsidized leased car like you currently do over the course of 20 years.

Even then, you didn’t even address this point, the Casus Knaxi.

And in November, the car charges 'anyway' for free in the drizzle in the afternoon?

And your

only works if you have good sunlight and either work from home or, decadently, can always switch between two cars: one on one day for work while the other charges. And then switch on the next workday... unless the weather was bad the day before, then you have to take the bus.

So you assume that one can drive about 100 km with one car and has to charge it daily? Wonderful, that may have been the case 5 years ago. There are also days called Saturday and Sunday, when one normally does not have to work. But you are right about one thing. The financing is already tight enough, it doesn’t need any more price drivers.

If I weren't working from home, that would mean commuting 80 km for me (both ways). And until about 2 years ago, 95 km was normal. Of course, that also includes other traffic after work, like shopping, visiting friends, or going to the gym. Or having a doctor's appointment before starting work. And yes, people do that in the winter half-year too. Really!

I calculated it: I wouldn't be able to cover more than 30 to 40% of my driving with self-consumption, except when working from home. But then the fuel costs are just ridiculous—especially when you consider the purchase price of an e-litter. Then I'd rather buy a V8 for the same price to cover my 6000 to 8000 km "remaining traffic distance."

I drive a GLC. It cost over €30k. For that price, I can get, for example, a Skoda Enyaq with an 80 kW battery. That’s why I would personally consider whether the next car might be an electric car.
