Come on Normally you're not that insensitive either. The post was unnecessarily harsh. Sure, obviously the client was also asleep at the wheel, but things like the height and waterproofing of basements are really not easy subjects for laypeople. You're not , he can keep that level to himself. Regarding the architect's comment: don't let it annoy you, we all agree that your designs are an absolute enrichment for the forum.

Yes, you're right, it's too late now anyway and complaining in hindsight doesn't help. I'm just appalled by this gullibility. No wonder the companies rip people off left and right.

And since the details are not coming here, I wonder if the original poster at least knows now what happened exactly?

Yes, we had gathered a lot of information, but also often displayed a certain good faith. Unfortunately, this also became our downfall during the construction. But honestly? Some (family) businesses in their 3rd generation with super likeable bosses sometimes make you forget with cool sayings that the risk of severe construction defects exists there just as much! I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't experienced it myself. It hurts, toughens you up, and makes you richer by one experience.

And just from reading and a bit of googling, you still don’t know exactly how to build a basement, otherwise anyone who has read a book could become a construction supervisor.

Have you brought a building surveyor on board in addition to lawyers? Don’t you have an architect as a site manager?
