The self-proclaimed "Forumsarchitektin" is currently often slipping up in tone.

The man at work is extremely busy, the woman at home with 3 children, that's all quite challenging and I doubt that one reaches the professional level just by reading...

This all turned out more than stupidly.

Crazy story, somehow also crazy Austrian. Did I understand correctly that it is clarified where the water entered the basement? Then I assume that it can be successfully fixed. I would personally get the height approval in black and white from the authority as the client. I don't really want to believe it. It is already a pretty crazy exception that residential houses are even allowed on a small garden plot. That only exists in Austria in Vienna. The whole thing is obviously also associated with extremely strict (not to say crazy) restrictions. See the 50m² buildable area. And now they should suddenly allow 50cm more in height? Don't get me wrong, this is not mockery. I wish you, and also believe, that the whole thing will still turn out well. After all, the construction company is obviously still willing to talk and work. First clarify the permit 100%, then let the construction heroes get to work on the renovation.

Honestly, I forbid that. I have never called myself that and never will, because I am not.

I never thought I would say this here. But such a post is really off the mark!

It has nothing to do with being poor or rich, when you commission something, you can expect the service to be properly carried out by a specialist company. As a layperson, googling a bit and then philosophizing about surveying and basement construction is not helpful either. Of course, an expert always makes sense, but as far as I understood, craftsmen were carefully selected and it still went terribly wrong. Engaging in hindsight know-it-all behavior is like predicting the lottery numbers from Saturday on the following Sunday. Superfluous, unnecessary, and arrogant.
